Guidelines

1. Description

The main purpose of this award is to encourage corporations to continuing innovate, to discover newcomers that stand at the forefront of innovation, to further encourage corporation to grasp the ever-changing industrial trends. Ministry of Economic Affairs also conducted an exclusive interview with the medias to encourage the research and innovation team, and for all contestants work on the innovations in technology/ know-how, processing, products, organization, and strategy within the last 3 years.

2. Prospective contestants:


(1) Corporations, their associated departments, R&D Groups, and independent project teams must be registered according to the law for a full 2 year and still in operation.

(2) Contestants must possess outstanding work in the following categories: “technology / know-how”, “products / system”, “organization”, and “strategy”. Each contestant may only enter in a maximum of two categories.

(3) Contestants who have received "Ministry of Economic Affairs Industrial Technology Development Award" or other Industrial Merit Awards in year 2006 or 2007 may not enter in the same categories again.

Innovations in Technology

Innovations in the deep plowing techniques, the use of intellectual capital, technology licensing

Innovations in Product/System

Innovations in product features, effects, materials, interface design

Innovations in Manufacturing / Process

Innovations in major developments or improvements in production, distribution, warehousing, technical services

Innovations in Organization

Restructuring of the organization, processes updated into major management system, or staff performance incentives / organizations such as the education and training system innovation matters

Innovations in Strategy

By the development of new business as well as business outsourcing, integration and value on the downstream restructuring activities, revenue model innovation, or external partners such as strategy for management innovation

5. Registration Period is March 15 ~ June 8 2007

Any enterprise that meets the contest requirements or the department, research or project team which recommended by these enterprises, please submit an application for a suitable category

7Accreditation


(1) Vetting Committees: Judges are people from the Department of Industrial Technology MOEA and scholars, experts etc.

(2) There are pre-selection, second selection, and final selection.

* Pre-selection:
MOEA will appoint judges and invite
scholars, experts in the preliminary group, or send out for refereeing when necessary.

* Second selection:
Judges will invite contestants selected in the first round to make a presentation, and depending on the circumstances, will go and observe at the site.

* Final Selection:

Judges will make final suggestion of the winners, and will submit the winner list to MOEA for approval.

Description

Innovations in Technology

Technology innovation in plotting skills, managing intellectual capitals which include the number of patents and the growth rate, and any other technology innovation that derives from licensing matters over the past three years.

Innovations in Product/System

Present new products or have major improvements in the product features, materials, interface design etc. over the past three years.

Innovations in Manufacturing / Process

There are major developments or improvements in internal production, distribution, warehousing, technical services, or other flow innovation over the past three years.

Innovations in Organization

Restructuring of the organization, processes updated into major management system, or staff performance incentives / organizations such as the education and training system innovation matters over the past three years.

Innovations in Strategy

Over the past three years by the development of new business as well as business outsourcing, integration and value on the downstream restructuring activities, revenue model innovation, or external partners such as strategy for management innovation.
